Paul, Mars Hill, & Acts 17

Our plan was to sleep in on Monday morning since we were both pretty tired from race day. Our plans were thwarted when the sound of loud drilling and hammering woke us up at 7:00 am! Construction was being done in the apartment above us…grrr. We got up and decided to do one last walking tour of Athens. It turned out to be like a five hour walking tour, but it was one of the best things we did in all of Athens. We walked through the ancient part of the city and saw the Roman Agora, the Temple of Zeus, Hadrian’s Library, Socrates’ Prison, and the coolest site of all, Areopagus (Mars Hill)! This is where the Apostle Paul preached to the masses in Athens (Acts 17:16 – 34). See http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Acts+17%3A16-34&version=NIV

Disclaimer on shirt J – You may notice Jackson is wearing his marathon shirt instead of THE shirt. This was to celebrate his finish – all of the marathoners wore them around Athens the day after the race. It was so cool to see how many people wore them around the city! They were everywhere and it made us feel a part of something big!
